Don't you think it will fall as we head into this week and finally have temperatures in the 80's! I can tell you it looks a little like fall as many trees have dropped their leaves due to the lack of rain. We look forward to the cooler temps. Next weekend should be a great weekend to walk the trails of the park as the temperature cools down.
The lake water should cool of a bit as well. The lake is still open for swimming and there are plenty of boats out there this weekend. While fall seems a long way off it is around the corner.
If you are looking for a lodge which can handle your crowd and does not require everyone to sleep on futons check out our lodge at www.arborbreeze.com. If you are looking for smaller places, from cabin to a house-see our other properties at www.arbuckleparadise.com. We are beginining to get calls for holiday bookings and the lodge is already booked for New Years Eve. Don't wait to book for that big Thanksgiving get together. And yes, for those die hard football fans Dish TV is there so you shouldn't miss your games.

Finally some rain
The park service, rightfully so, still has the streams and other swimming areas shut down due to low water and health concerns. You can of course still swim at the lake. Rain finally came but it is going to take a lot to make up for the dry summer. The lake is about 4 feet low making some new shoreline! You can still put your boat in. I would recommend checking out Guy Sandy ramp as it is deeper there. While it was a quiet weekend there were still those enjoying the lake on boats and jet skis. With school starting the crowds are down making it a great time to visit while still summer heat. Finally we have a some cooler morning..
A big thanks to all of our customers from this weekend. We hope you all had a great time.

Hot, hot and hotter brings burn ban
The Arbuckle Lake area is under a burn ban until the begining of August. The lake is lower than normal which on the bright side means you can walk the shore line with ease. On the negative side it means be careful when boating. Also, one of our guests used the small Eagle Bay boat ramp this weekend. It was so low that you have to more or less go past the edge of the concrete to hit deep enough water to launch your boat. In doing so their trailer became damaged when they tried to pull out.
The other bright spot is the birds. The area is full of natural habitat but I seem to see more birds-maybe they are looking for some water.
The weather is predicted to stay above 100 for the next week at least. Make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen and keep up the fluids.
It is a lovely day. I write this as I sit enjoying the morning overlooking the lake from our Point Breeze property. Check us out at http://www.arbuckleparadise.com/
If you have a large group looking for a gathering. We have the last two weekends of July open. You can see more information about the lodge at http://www.arborbreeze.com/ I have been told by our guests that our pictures don't do it justice. The lodge can handle a crowd with ease.

Lots of traffic on the lake this past weekend
Well the weather was perfect for being on the lake. The winds were calm and the weather warm. Guy Sandy was packed, all parking spaces were full so people parked on the road. With next weekend being Father's Day I would expect the lake to be just as busy. Try the lake during the week-it is a lot calmer!
Have a great week!

Windy.....
The weather was warm but the winds were more than gentle this weekend. The crowds were thick as summer has officially started. The lake was full of waves and white caps especially on Sunday. Most boats chose to find a cove or anchor at party cove.
The park looks so much better with most of the cedars gone. Lets hope they continue to work on it and get to finish the burning this coming winter.
The construction on the new hotel is very visible as the parking garage is a mass of concrete. I can't wait to see it come to life. I am hopeful it will breathe new life into the downtown area which need some serious help. Perhaps those that rule the city will also begin to enforce codes and clean up the town especially the areas leading to the park.

Happy Mother's Day
I am writing this as I sit on the deck of Point Breeze. I am enjoying the incredible view of the lake as I watch the birds float by. The Arbuckle Lake area is a great place to spend your Mother's Day.
Yesterday we took the boat out on the lake for a few hours. It was a little windy but not too bad. The sun was warm, the water still to chilly formy liking. This morning I see quite a few fisherman on the lake so I am guessing the fishing is good as always.
I plan to spend the rest of my day here enjoying time with family and nature. A perfect day no doubt.
Check out our Point Breeze house which is available for nightly rental at www.arbuckleparadise.com
If you have a large reunion look
at our lodge and clOse by cabins. The lodge easily sleeps 24 (note No FUTONS) with the cabins sleeping 8 each. These are spread across 5 acresso each is private yet if needed you can walk to others. The lodge is almost booked for each weekend this summer so book mow to catch one of the few open weekends. You light start thinking about fall get-togethers now! See these properties at www.arborBreeze.com.

New cabin ready for rent
We finally have the cabin refurbished and rentable. I love to decorate and to have the properties each be unique. This cabin, officially named Pine Breeze is done retro style. The furnishing and decor will remind you of the 70's. But there is no disco ball but I did think about it!
I will be posting pics soon to our website www.arborbreeze.com. This cabin rents for $155/night for 4, $10 extra for more than four and sleeps 8. It has a queen bed, a set of twin bunk beds, 2 twin roll away beds and a queen futon. I hope to replace the futon with a murphy bed.

Spring rains bring.....
Where in the heck did this cold rainy weather come from? Warm weather is on its way. This should be a great weekend in the Arbuckle Lake area. The rain was much needed. Thanks to it the burn ban has been lifted which means you can have a camp fire if you would like. Kids just love to do smores over a fire.
Spending the weekend in the beauty of the park and lake makes for a great Mother's Day weekend. Come see us.

What great weather. The trees are blooming and the days are longer. What a great time of year to enjoy the area. The lake is still too cool to swim in but perfect for a nice afternoon on the boat or jet ski.
Don't forget to check out all there is to do in the area by checking the Sulphur or Davis chamber's websites.

Fantastic Weekend
After a chilly week it looks like we are on track for a fantastic weekend. If you are coming to the area for the first time this is a perfect time to walk the trails in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. This national park, one of only 3 in the state, is very full of visitors in the summer. So take advantage of our summer like weather while the crowds are lighter and enjoy!
